Acquisition will enable growth in wireless infrastructure and services
South Boston, VA – June 24, 2015 – Mid-Atlantic Broadband Communities Corporation (MBC), a leading non-profit wholesale network transport provider in Southern Virginia, today announced that it has successfully acquired the Tower Services Division of Gamewood Technology Group, Inc. MBC will establish a new wholly owned subsidiary, MBC Towers, Inc.

Governor Terry McAuliffe signed Executive Order 43 today, establishing the Virginia Unmanned Systems Commission to bring public and private sector experts together to make recommendations on how to make Virginia the national leader in unmanned systems.

"This executive order will lay the foundation for my administration's efforts to make this Commonwealth the world's leader in unmanned systems and seize the enormous economic opportunities that accompany growing this industry.

Dominion Resources Inc. will announce today that it plans to build a 1,600-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant in Southside Virginia.
The plant — which would be the state’s largest fueled by natural gas — would be built on a 1,143-acre property that straddles the Greensville-Brunswick county line, with most of the land in Greensville.
It will draw fuel from a Transco pipeline that is being extended to the site, and it would eventually be supplied by the proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline.
The plant, which would need to be approved by the State Corporation Commission, would open in 2019.
“We are very pleased to have been selected for the site of this project and welcome Dominion to our county,” said Peggy R. Wiley, chairwoman of the Greensville Board of Supervisors.
510nano Incorporated to invest $11 million to relocate headquarters and establish manufacturing operation
GREENSVILLE COUNTY, VA - Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today that 510nano Incorporated, a developer of renewable energy projects and technologies, will invest $11 million to relocate its headquarters and establish a manufacturing operation in Greensville County. The company will construct a 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility for the production of solar panels in Greensville County Industrial Park. The project will create 113 new jobs.
Speaking about today’s announcement, Governor McAuliffe said, “Creating these 21st century jobs in the advanced manufacturing and renewable energy sectors is critical as we work to build a new Virginia economy. 510nano’s investment in Greensville County is a huge win for the Commonwealth and especially for a community that is transforming itself.”
“Greensville County is a great fit for 510nano’s headquarters and new manufacturing operation, offering a site that meets the company’s needs, a superior workforce, a manufacturing industry cluster and close proximity to a world class port,” said Secretary of Commerce and Trade Maurice Jones. “We are confident that 510nano will continue to profitably pursue its strategic vision from its new Virginia location.”
New Jobs and Investment in Greensville County The Greensville County Board of Supervisors welcomes CIMC Intermodal Equipment, an American division of the China International Marine Containers family, the largest builder of shipping containers and chassis in the world to the Greensville County Industrial Park. CIMC Intermodal Equipment, with corporate offices in California, will make significant investments to expand its chassis assembly production from South Gate, California to the Greensville County Industrial Park.
The new operations renovations are currently under way in the former Quality Culvert facility and will create an estimated 40 new jobs as the operation matures.
Grants encourage regional economic collaboration
Governor Terry McAuliffe today announced $200,000 in funding for five collaborative efforts in Virginia through the Building Collaborative Communities (BCC) program. The program promotes regional economic collaboration in economically-distressed areas to stimulate job creation, economic development and provide a significant return on state investment.
